The Burning House

Submitted by Kendra Hibler, Health Educator at Teen Matters Jackson

So, I found this project (The Burning House) online and thought it was a super cool concept! We’ve all thought about what we would grab if our house was on fire, but this one guy had people actually collect their objects, photograph them, and then write out a little description.

What would you take? Souvenirs from trips? Pictures? Your laptop? Favorite dress? See all the submitted pictures here.

Prom Dresses for All!

Submitted by Kendra Hibler, Health Educator at Teen Matters Jackson

It’s now spring, and that means baseball season, allergies, shorts, and PROM! I know most everyone is excited about the big night – and for us girls, a lot of that excitement comes from the dress! They’re so beautiful and fun and glittery and colorful! But they can definitely be costly, and especially in the past couple of years, more and more girls are having to go without – and miss out on the fun because they didn’t have a dress.

Well, you can help! Donate My Dress is a national program for prom dress donations. They’ve partnered with Seventeen, CosmoGirl, Macy’s, and more organizations to make sure that every girl gets the chance to have a magical prom! Visit their website to find out more about how to donate or receive a dress.

And remember to be safe and have fun no matter what you’re wearing!
