Have you heard about Project Condom? Project Condom is based on the television reality show, Project Runway. ONE Condom Company donates colored, non-lubricated, non-packaged, expired condoms for the designers to use as the “fabric” for creating a wearable article of clothing.

According to The University of Georgia University Health Center, Project Condom seeks to “promote safe and healthy sexual decisions by reducing social stigma surrounding condom usage and celebrating the protection and respect for yourself and others when ready to consent to a sexual act”.

On February 15th, 2012, a group of students from Clarke Central High School stepped into the shoes of past designers from the Project Condom Fashion Show.

Clarke Central students learn about sexual health

Not only did the students learn about healthy sexual decision-making, they also got first-hand experience with what it is like to be a designer for Project Condom.  The male students from Clarke Central used the condoms to design things such as bags, ties, and belts.

Many of the students took it upon themselves to use their school colors – red and yellow – to give their design an extra oomph.
